Located in Surry Hills, the design utilises the high ceilings and generous scale with a seven metre marble dining table with the Flos Aim overhead, created by the Bouroullec brothers in 2010. The AIM ceiling light is a design stripped to its most basic—and beautiful—essence. This innovative form of modern pendant lighting is constructed from a varnished aluminium sheet with a photo-etched optical PC (polycarbonate) shade. The internal reflector is photo-etched ABS. The cable can be adjusted to allow the fixture head and light distribution to be aimed in whatever way you choose.

Inspiration behind the design: When they created the Aim ceiling light, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec wanted to keep its core essence limited to the source of light and its cord. By doing that, they ensured that the Aim is versatile enough for any setting not only because of its appearance, but also because it provides a convenient, easily “aimed” light.

The Toio by Flos sits against grey polished walls and luxurious textures. Its designers named it for the English word for “toy,” for good reason: This inventive lamp inspires the imagination, blending an industrial style with a timeless and whimsical design. It’s easy to see why this legendary favorite—designed by the famed Castiglioni brothers—has garnered so many awards, even earning a place in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The Toio by Flos compliments the artwork by Ryan Hoffmann from Liverpool Street Gallery. With an enamel steel base that supports a hexagon shaped, nickel-plated brass stem. Along the stem are fishing rod rings used to guide the electrical cord from the bulb to the transformer. A cleat on the base, like that found on a boat or ship, serves as a functional element designed to keep the cord neatly coiled in when the lamp is adjusted to a lower height.

Inspiration behind the design: The contemporary floor lamp was designed by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, who were inspired by a car’s headlight. The Toio comes with an incandescent bulb and provides indirect light. Adjustable height. Available in black, red or white finish.
